Maharaja Agrasen Airport On April 14, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Hisar-Ayodhya flight and laid the foundation stone for the new terminal building at Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. This significant development is part of the government’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and improving air travel accessibility.

₹410 Crore Investment in New Terminal
The new terminal building, estimated to cost ₹410 crore, will include state-of-the-art facilities such as a modern passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, and an advanced air traffic control (ATC) building. The project is expected to be completed within two years and will significantly boost Haryana’s aviation infrastructure.

Hisar-Ayodhya Flight: A Milestone in Regional Connectivity
In addition to the Hisar-Ayodhya flight, PM Modi announced that scheduled flights will operate twice a week between Hisar and Ayodhya. Furthermore, there will be three weekly flights to Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh, greatly improving air connectivity for the region.
This initiative is in line with the government’s UDAN scheme, aimed at making air travel affordable and accessible for the people of India. The UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme is set to transform regional air travel by providing more options and reducing travel costs.
Launched on Ambedkar Jayanti
The event coincided with the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a leading figure in the creation of the Indian Constitution and a key proponent of Dalit rights. PM Modi also launched several development projects worth ₹10,000 crore in Haryana, aimed at fostering inclusive growth.
